insect protection in Malawi

In co-operation with "Bruder und Schwester in Not" and the Rotary Club Dornbirn Agroflor financed the electrification of a hospital in the district Chitipa in the north of Malawi as well as the installation of water supply for the hospital and the villagers.

The current project is the construction of a hospital in the district Ntchis which has no medical facilities so far.
Whith this hospital a medical basic service can be provided for the people within a range of 50 km of Malambo. The hospital is operated by nuns of the religious order "Theresian Sisters" which have also acted as projec partners durig the construction phase. The first construction phase of the hospital, which consists of the water supply, electrification with solar energy, the ambulance and employee housing, was completed in June 2010.

The Agroflor insect protection nets were used as mosquito nets on the windows of the hospital to prevent the transmittal of malaria by insects during hospitalization.
